Meeting Times and Map
1. PLEASE DON'T BE LATE. We can not hold up an entire
trip for one late group. All trips meet at 10:00 a.m. at our river office where the US Hwy 60 - AZ State Route 77 bridge
crosses the Salt River at Mile Marker 293. Wilderness
trips meet at 8a.m. under the Safeway sign in the Walmart Parking lot in the town of Miami just minutes from Globe, AZ.

Attention: Globe or
Showlow is the last place to get fuel, food, water.
Attention: Highway
Patrol is very active between Globe and the Salt River
Bridge.

known address for the Upper Salt River, just this:

US Hwy 60 - AZ State Route 77 Mile Marker 293
2. FROM PHOENIX. The distance
from I-17 and US Hwy 60 in Phoenix is 130 miles. No traffic
or construction and you can make it in 2 1/2 hours.
Add time accordingly for conditions and where you
are leaving from so as not to be late. Take Highway
60 east (Superstition Highway) to Globe. Pass through
Globe to the intersection of US Hwy 60 - AZ State Route 77 where there
is a traffic light and a Taco Bell. Not the Taco Bell in the Walmart parking lot which is actually Claypool/Miami. Turn left, north,
towards Showlow. Once you descend into the canyon
and cross the Salt River (about 40 miles) at Mile Marker 293 you will
see a dirt river access road to the left, west. Follow
the Salt River Rafting signs to our check-in area.
3. FROM TUCSON. The distance
from I-10 and AZ State Route 77 in Tucson is almost 150 miles.
Give yourself 3 hours. Take Highway 77 north (Oracle
Road) to Globe. At the intersection where US Hwy 60 - AZ State Route 77 across from Taco Bell turn north
towards Showlow. Once you descend into the canyon
and cross the Salt River (about 40 miles) at Mile Marker 293 you will
see a dirt river access road to the left, west. Follow
the Salt River Rafting signs to our check-in area.
4. Bring Extra clothing, Sunscreen,
Water, Restraining Strap for Glasses, Waterproof Camera,
